North Wayne Schools will conduct free Child Find and Preschool Screenings for children ages 3 to 5 who are not enrolled in public school and will not be eligible for kindergarten this fall. The screenings will be held Monday, September 21st at Johnsonville School and will check each child's development in areas including hearing, vision and speech. Parents will receive immediate feedback on their child's development. Each screening takes approximately 45 minutes, and appointments are required to limit waiting times. Parents living in the North Wayne School District can schedule an appointment or obtain additional information by calling 618-673-3044. Parents should bring proof of income, either a W-2 or two consecutive pay stubs, along with a certified copy of the child's birth certificate from the courthouse. The screening is provided at no cost.
