Wayne County authorities are reporting three recent arrests involving Fairfield and McLeansboro residents.
Twenty-two-year-old Azalee E. Stephens of Fairfield was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies at approximately 8:30 Friday night on a failure-to-appear warrant. The warrant stems from a case in which Stephens is charged with alleged retail theft. She is scheduled to appear Sept. 29 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
In a separate case, 48-year-old Damon Mark Irwin of Fairfield was arrested Thursday, Sept. 10, for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender as required by law. Irwin is subject to lifetime registration requirements stemming from a previous criminal sexual abuse conviction. He had most recently been listed as homeless in Fairfield.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Joshua J. Lytle of McLeansboro was arrested after Wayne County deputies conducted a traffic stop on an ATV at North Railroad and Stephens streets in Sims shortly after 10:20 Saturday night.
Deputies determined Lytle was allegedly driving on a revoked license. He was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Jail, where he was being held pending pretrial services and a court appearance.
