The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced upcoming ramp closures as construction continues on the Interstate 64 Wabash River Bridge near Grayville.
The westbound entrance ramp from Illinois Route 1 to I-64 will be closed first, beginning September 21st and continuing through September 28th.
Immediately following that closure, the eastbound entrance ramp from Illinois Route 1 to I-64 is scheduled to close from September 28th through October 5th.
The closures are part of ongoing construction work involving the I-64 bridge over the Wabash River.
IDOT also says no oversize or overweight permits will be allowed through the affected area during the closure period.
Motorists who normally use the ramps should plan ahead and allow additional travel time while the restrictions are in place.
