The Wayne City Ruritans have announced the schedule for the 2026 Bean Days celebration. This year’s theme is “Saluting Service and Celebrating America.”
Bean Days resumes Thursday, September 24, with Church Night hosted by First Christian Church at 6 p.m.
Friday’s activities include a 5K Color Run hosted by Wayne City High School Prom at 6 p.m., followed by a Sweeties Block Party from 7 to 10 p.m.
A full day of activities is planned Saturday, September 26. The tractor show on Mill Street will run from 7 to 10 a.m., while the car and truck show begins at 8 a.m. in the Baptist Church parking lot. A vendor and craft fair will be held on Mill Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with a quilt show at the Baptist Church.
Other Saturday activities include a softball tournament at 10 a.m., the Bean Days parade at 11 a.m. and free ham and beans at noon at the Community Building.
The Lions Train and Kids Corner will run from noon to 2 p.m. on South Walnut Street, while the PTO Dunk Tank begins at noon on Mill Street. Fred and His Feathered Friends Bird Show will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Building parking lot, followed by a pedal pull at 1:30 p.m. on Walnut Street.
Bingo, hosted by the Wayne City Matters group, begins at 3 p.m. at the Community Building. The celebration concludes with a rodeo hosted by the Wayne City Saddle Club at 7 p.m. More information can be found on the Wayne City Illinois Ruritan Club Facebook page.
