Access to Interstate 64 at Grayville will be restricted over the next two weeks as work continues on the replacement of the Wabash River bridges.
The westbound ramp at Grayville is closed through September 28th. The eastbound ramp will then close from September 28th through October 5th.
Oversize and overweight permits will also not be allowed through the affected area during the closure periods.
The restrictions are part of the ongoing $136 million project to replace the twin I-64 bridges over the Wabash River south of Grayville.
The former westbound bridge has already been demolished, with eastbound and westbound traffic currently sharing the remaining bridge under a two-way traffic configuration.
Lunda Construction of Wisconsin is the contractor for the project, which includes construction of approximately 8,339 feet of new roadway.
The overall bridge replacement project is expected to continue through 2028.
