A Mt. Vernon man faces burglary, trespassing and drug charges following an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 7 p.m. September 21 to a report of a trespasser at a residence in the 12,600 block of Illinois Route 148.
Authorities arrested 38-year-old Tyson A. Carlos of Mt. Vernon on preliminary charges of criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamine.
Detectives also responded to the scene because of an ongoing burglary investigation involving the same property that began September 8. Further investigation resulted in an additional burglary charge against Carlos.
Carlos was transported to the Jefferson County Jail pending a pretrial detention hearing.
