Eastern Illinois University has received several national and regional honors recognizing its affordability, academic programs and student outcomes.
Time magazine and research partner Statista recently named EIU to its “America’s Best Colleges of 2026-2027” list. EIU is the only Ohio Valley Conference institution included in the rankings.
The university also received a “Best Value University” designation in the Midwest from U.S. News & World Report, recognizing its focus on affordability and student outcomes.
EIU’s online cybersecurity program also received recognition, with OnlineCybersecurity.org ranking it as the top public online cybersecurity program in Illinois in its 2027 listings.
