Homecoming activities at Fairfield Community High School are set for this week with this year’s celebration carrying the theme “Mirror Ball Magic.”
A Battle of the Classes will be held Wednesday, September 30, at 6:30 p.m. Students can earn points for their class through attendance, participation in games and placement in the Penny Wars competition. Classes can also earn extra points by bringing Christmas wrapping paper to their class sponsors.
Dress-up days are planned throughout the week. Today (Monday) will be Zoom Day, followed by BBQ Dad vs. Soccer Mom on Tuesday, Rhyme Without Reason on Wednesday, Hero vs. Villain on Thursday and Crazy Red & Black on Friday.
The Penny Wars competition will pit coins against paper money. Coins placed in a grade’s bucket count as positive points, while paper money can be placed in competing grades’ buckets and counts against them. Buckets will be available in the main office, with additional town wide locations at FNB, PNB, Fairfield Banking Company and Fusion. The competition continues through 3pm Wednesday.
Friday will feature the Homecoming Parade at 2 p.m. Those interested in participating are asked to contact Donna Reever in the FCHS main office.
The Fairfield Mules will host the Flora Wolves at 7 p.m. Friday for the Homecoming football game. The 2026 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime.
Queen candidates are Wren Braddock, Hilary Hodges and Selah Sork. King candidates are Cooper Berg, Owen Gruen and Aiden King.
Escorts are Michael Barner, Jack Copeland, Austin Grieve, Ashton King, Breychan Kovacich and Andrew Hutcheson.
Freshman attendants are Gabriella Springmeyer and Josie Crews; sophomore attendants are Karsyn Miller and Taylann Kovacich; and junior attendants are Malia Austin and Jensyn Robbins.
Homecoming concludes Saturday with the annual dance from 7 to 10 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from student council members.
