Michael P. “Mike” Talley, 81, of Carmi passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Wabash Senior Living and Rehab in Carmi. He was born in Carmi on January 8, 1945 the son of Earl and Rosemary (Morris) Talley. Mike married Judy E. Smith on December 30, 1967 and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2000. He later married Gloria E. Lampley on May 2, 2001 and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2015. Mike retired after 30 years in the oil industry as a Drilling Superintendent for James Biggard Drilling. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mike was also a faithful member of New Beginning Church of God where he would help however he could, but enjoyed serving in the kitchen and food pantry.
Mike is survived by his children, Lisa Graham of Evansville, IN, Anthony Smith of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Michael Ross Talley of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Adam Talley of Lansing, MI; three siblings, Kay Talley, Steve (Jo) Talley and Doug (Tammy) Talley all of Carmi; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouses, a son, John Turner, and two siblings, Billy Talley and Candace Darnell.
Graveside services and burial for Michael P. Talley, 81, of Carmi will be held at a later date in North Maple Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to New Beginning Church of God and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is assisting the family with arrangements.
