A Grayville man has been sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following an investigation that began with an unauthorized recording complaint.
49-year-old Brian Allender was originally arrested in April after a complaint was filed at the Road Ranger near Interstate 64 in Grayville.
Following the arrest, Grayville Police Chief Mason Siegel took possession of Allender’s phone. Police said a forensic examination uncovered numerous illicit images involving minors, material depicting sexual activity with animals and video recordings believed to have been made inside a public restroom at the convenience store.
The investigation resulted in additional felony charges.
Under a plea agreement, Allender pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material, a Class X felony, and unauthorized video recording. The remaining charges were dismissed.
On Tuesday, Judge T. Scott Webb sentenced Allender to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by three years to life of mandatory supervised release.
