A McLeansboro man was sentenced to probation Wednesday after reaching a plea agreement in White County Circuit Court.
60-year-old John Armey pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine in a case dating back to August 2025.
Under the plea agreement, Armey was sentenced to two years of probation, ordered to pay a fine, complete 30 hours of community service and participate in a drug treatment program. He also received a six-month jail sentence that was stayed.
The remaining charges of unlawful use of property, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
