Two men were resentenced Thursday in Wayne County Circuit Court after previously admitting to probation violations in separate Class 3 felony theft cases.

35-year-old Michael B. Stephenson of Goldengate had previously been sentenced to 24 months of Second Chance Probation. Court records show Stephenson admitted August 6th to violating his Second Chance Probation as alleged in a petition filed April 6th. Judgment was entered in the theft case and Stephenson was sentenced to probation along with 90 days in jail. He was given credit for five days already served and was ordered to pay a $25 monthly probation fee.

43-year-old Christopher S. Britton of Clay City was resentenced after admitting to violating probation. Britton had previously received a two-year probation sentence for Class 3 felony theft. He admitted to violating his probation as alleged in an amended petition to revoke or modify probation. Britton was again sentenced to two years of probation. The court also imposed a 180-day jail sentence, which was stayed, with the order noting Britton had already served 57 days. Britton was also ordered to undergo an alcohol and drug assessment through an approved agency and complete recommended counseling.
