The Illinois Farm Bureau is accepting applications for its 2027 Rural Development Grant Program, with $125,000 available to support projects benefiting rural communities.
The grants are intended for projects addressing economic development or quality-of-life needs while encouraging community involvement.
Eligible projects could include efforts to attract businesses, encourage entrepreneurship, improve infrastructure, expand access to fresh food or healthcare, increase housing, develop tourism and recreational opportunities, or strengthen fire, EMS and law enforcement services.
Projects that otherwise provide a positive impact for farmers and rural Illinois residents may also qualify.
The application deadline is December 1st. Full details on the grant program can be found at on.ilfb.org/rdgrants6
Wayne County organizations or individuals interested in submitting an application are encouraged to contact the Wayne County Farm Bureau at 618-842-3342 to discuss their proposed project.
