Oak House will host a special Roots & Rhythm: Halloween Edition fundraiser Saturday, October 31st at Leo French Park in Fairfield.
The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m. at the park’s lake stage and will feature live music, food trucks, children’s activities, carnival games, raffles and a costume contest.
Local musician Tylor McGehee is scheduled to perform a solo acoustic set from 5 to 7 p.m. Additional live music is planned from 7 to 9 p.m.
A costume contest for all ages will begin at 7 p.m., with winners announced at 8:30 p.m. Other activities will include free face painting, temporary tattoos for children, carnival games and a “guess the number of candies” contest.
A 50/50 drawing and gift basket raffles will also be held during the evening.
Admission is free, although donations are encouraged. Proceeds will benefit Oak House, A Healing Cottage Transition Home, and its efforts to build Cedar Residence and provide safe, supportive housing for individuals seeking a fresh start.
Food trucks and raffle sales will begin when the event opens at 5 p.m., with closing remarks scheduled for 9 p.m.
