Deaconess Illinois Crossroads in Mt. Vernon has received five-star ratings in three patient experience categories based on recent data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The hospital earned top ratings for cleanliness, nurse communication and patient recommendations. The recognition was highlighted by Becker’s Hospital Review in its reporting on hospitals receiving high patient-experience ratings.
The ratings are based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, which gathers feedback directly from patients about their hospital experiences.
The five-star nurse communication rating reflects how well nurses listen, communicate and treat patients with courtesy and respect. The cleanliness rating measures patients’ perceptions of the hospital environment, while the recommendation rating reflects whether patients would recommend the facility to family and friends.
Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Goss said the recognition reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
“Our employees put patients at the center of everything they do, and we are proud of their commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care,” Goss said.
Goss added that the results are especially meaningful because they come directly from patients and families served by the hospital.
The recognition also reflects the contributions of nurses, clinical staff, environmental services employees and other hospital personnel who help provide a positive patient experience.
