FORMER GRAYVILLE COMMISSIONER TURNS NEGATIVE MESSAGE INTO CHRISTMAS DONATION

Former Grayville City Commissioner Andi Ford presented Grayville Police Chief Mason Siegel with a $2,500 check Monday night to support the city’s Hometown Heroes Christmas program for underprivileged children.

The money came from a T-shirt fundraiser Ford launched after receiving a hateful letter following her resignation from the city council.

Rather than dwell on the message, Ford turned it from a negative standpoint, to a positive outcome with a fundraiser by placing the note’s wording on T-shirts and selling them for $20 each, with proceeds benefiting the Hometown Heroes program.

Between shirt sales and additional donations, Ford raised $2,500.

The money will be used to help provide Christmas shopping opportunities for children in need in the Grayville community.
