A Wayne City woman was injured in a single-vehicle traffic crash Tuesday morning on Illinois Route 15 just west of Fairfield
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 20-year-old Kayla Sexton of Wayne City was traveling on Illinois Route 15 near the address of 1438 IL Highway 15 around 8:05 a.m. when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
The crash resulted in injuries to Sexton, who was airlifted from the scene by AirEvac to Deaconess Hospital for treatment. Wayne County Ambulance personnel along with Fairfield Rural Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Sexton was driving a 2019 Buick four-door sedan, which sustained damage in the crash and was towed from the scene.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department investigated the accident.
