***Top Sports Headlines***

>>Rays Bounce Guardians To Clinch ALCS

(Undated) — The 2026 World Series is set. The Tampa Bay Rays are taking on the Milwaukee Brewers after eliminating the Cleveland Guardians in Game Six of the ALCS from Tropicana Field. The Rays cruised to a 7-3 victory thanks in part to a two-run homer by Junior Caminero. This marks Tampa Bay’s third trip to the Fall Classic. Milwaukee is also making its third World Series appearance. Both franchises are seeking their first title. Game One of the best of seven series is Friday at American Family Field.

>>49ers Take Down Commanders On MNF To Finish Week Six

(Undated) — The 49ers took down the Commanders 23-17 to close out Week Six on Monday Night Football from San Fran. Upsets were the name of the game on Sunday. The Texans, Titans and Cardinals picked up gutsy wins. The Packers handled the Cowboys with ease in Sunday’s nightcap. Week Seven kicks off on Thursday Night Football from Chicago when the Bears battle the Patriots.

>>Rams WR Suffers Late Injury

(Woodland Hills, CA) — The Los Angeles Rams are hoping for good news on one of their top playmakers. Wide receiver Davonte Adams left Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth quarter with a non-contact leg injury. Adams has been the Rams’ second-leading receiver behind Puka Nacua this season.

>>Blood Clots Found In Eagle’s QB Lungs

(Philadelphia, PA) — Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ blood clotting issues are more severe than first believed. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports multiple clots were found in Hurts’ lungs after undergoing new imaging tests over the weekend. The development will likely keep the 28-year-old on the shelf for the rest of this season, though the team doesn’t think he’ll face long-term effects.

>>Packers RB Josh Jacobs Returning To Practice

(Undated) — The Packers could be getting a key playmaker back in Week Seven. Running back Josh Jacobs will return to practice on Wednesday and has a chance to play when Green Bay visits the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Jacobs missed the first six games of the season while on the NFL’s commissioner exempt list. In other news, head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed edge rusher Micah Parsons will not return this week as he continues to recover from last year’s torn ACL.

>>Colts Fire GM Amid 2-4 Start

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Indianapolis Colts’ 2-and-4 start to the season has netted its first casualty. General manager Chris Ballard was fired after ten years in charge. Indy made the playoffs twice in Ballard’s first four seasons in charge, but haven’t returned since 2020 as the franchise has suffered a revolving door of quarterbacks. Assistant GM Ed Dodds will head football operations in the interim, and head coach Shane Steichen will remain on the job, for now.

>>Patriots Place Romeo Doubs On IR

(Undated) — The Pats’ receiving corps took another hit on Monday. New England officially placed wideout Romeo Doubs on IR with a shoulder injury. Doubs suffered the injury after landing hard on his right shoulder while hauling in a 42-yard touchdown in the Patriots’ recent victory over the New York Jets. He will miss at least the next four games and is eligible to return against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12.

>>Celtics, Pistons Tip Off NBA Regular Season On Tuesday

(Undated) — The NBA regular season is finally here. Jayson Tatum and the Celtics tip off against Cade Cunningham’s Pistons from Detroit on Tuesday. The action rolls into Madison Square Garden later on when the defending champion Knicks square off against LeBron James and the 76ers. The nightcap features a Western Conference Finals rematch from last season when Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs duel Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder from San Antonio.

>>Report: Timberwolves Extend Jaden McDaniels

(Undated) — The Timberwolves have locked up one of their key pieces. According to ESPN, forward Jaden McDaniels has agreed to a one-year, 40-million-dollar extension that will keep him under contract through the 2029-30 season. The deal will allow McDaniels to negotiate another extension as early as 2028. He is coming off a career year where he averaged nearly 15 points to go along with four rebounds, one steal and one block per game.

>>Report: Yankees Bringing Back Manager Aaron Boone

(Undated) — The Yankees appear to be satisfied with their current regime. According to ESPN, Aaron Boone will be returning for his 10th season as manager of the Pinstripes in 2027. New York was eliminated in the ALDS for a second straight year a little more than one week ago. Boone’s contract runs through next season to complete a two-year, 10.5-million-dollar extension he signed in February 2025.

College Football Roundup

(Undated) — The college football season rolls on with Week Eight. Illinois hosts Oregon, Northwestern entertains Rutgers, Kansas is home against Baylor, and K-State visits Arizona State on Saturday. Missouri and Nebraska are on byes. Michigan is 4-and-2 and hosts 6-and-1 Indiana on Saturday. 2-and-5 Michigan State visits UCLA on Saturday.
