Members of the Ellery Panthers 4-H Club in Edwards County continued their tradition of giving back to the community during their Wednesday meeting, collecting food donations and creating seasonal decorations for the Edwards County Senior Center.
Club members collected 49 industrial-sized cans of fruits and vegetables to donate to the Senior Center. The annual community service project has been a tradition for several years and helps the facility offset food expenses while providing members an opportunity to support their community.

Meanwhile, the club’s younger members, known as Cloverbuds, completed a community service project of their own by creating pumpkin centerpieces for the Senior Center.
In addition to their service project, the Cloverbuds participated in an educational game designed to help them learn the 4-H pledge. They also had the opportunity to decorate their own pumpkins, using creativity and imagination.
The 4-H Cloverbuds program is designed for children ages 5 through 7, introducing younger participants to the activities, values, and community involvement associated with 4-H.
Both projects demonstrated the Ellery Panthers 4-H Club’s continued commitment to serving the Edwards County community while teaching young members the importance of helping others.
