The Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma will host its annual Fantasy Auction on Saturday, November 14th at First Baptist Church in Fairfield, raising funds to support women educators in their early years of teaching.
The event will begin with a complimentary brunch at 9:30 a.m., followed by the auction at 10 a.m. All ladies are invited to attend, and there is no admission charge.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit female educators during their first five years of teaching. Grant recipients use the funds to purchase needed classroom materials and supplies.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society promotes professional and personal growth among women educators while supporting excellence in education.
This year’s auctioneer will be longtime local journalist Len Wells, who has spent more than 50 years working in television, radio, and newspapers.
Organizers say Wells is well known throughout the area for his news career and entertaining stories, and they look forward to having him lead this year’s auction.
A variety of items will be available for bidding, with organizers encouraging friendly competition among members and guests.
The annual event provides an opportunity for fellowship, laughter, and fundraising while helping teachers obtain resources for their classrooms.
The Gamma Upsilon Chapter invites area women to attend the free brunch, enjoy the auction, and support a worthwhile educational cause.
