Wilma Lichtenberger, 93 of Fairfieldpassed away at 1:46 PM, Monday, January 8th, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. Born on September 25, 1930, in Wayne County to Richard and Flossie (Elliott) Hooper, she had been a homemaker and lifelong member of the Golden Gate United Methodist Church. She married Robert Lichtenberger on November 25, 1949.
Wilma is survived by her daughter Shirley Miller of Fairfield, sons Steve (Sherri) Lichtenberger of Jerseyville, IL, Brian (Kim) Lichtenberger of Wheeling, IL, and Cory (Judy) Lichtenberger of Barrington, IL, 10 grandchildren- Stacie Tucker, Melissa Simpson, Brad Miller, Tiffany Laferty, Sheena Whitehead, Nate Lichtenberger, Dana Lichtenberger, Dylan Lichtenberger, Colton Lichtenberger, and Wyatt Lichtenberger, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son in law Ron Miller, brothers Alvin Hooper and Elsworth Hooper, and sister Louella Fenton.
Funeral services for Wilma Lichtenberger will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, January 17th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in her honor may be made to the Golden Gate Methodist Church, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
