Jimmy Wayne Sweat, 70, of Fairfield passed away at 7:20PM on Thursday February 22, 2024, at SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Louis. He was a press operator at the Wayne County Press. Jimmy was born in Selmer TN on November 20, 1953, to James and Pearl (Willis) Sweat.
Jimmy is survived by daughters- Sabbrinna Buonaura of Bluford, Jamie (Jeremy) Kunce of Fairfield, and Chrissy (Lee) Downen of Bluford; son- Lucas (Makenna) Sweat of Fairfield; grandchildren- Dakota Gammon, Brittany Howell, Briana Fickas, Landon Buonaura, Nicholas Kunce, Brenden Kunce, Dominic Downen, and Jasmine Downen; three great-grandchildren also survive.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, wife- Sandra Sweat, and brother- William Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday February 27, 2024, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, Jimmy’s body will be cremated with a private celebration of life held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
