TWO INJURED IN CRASH TUESDAY MORNING WEST OF FAIRFIELD

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on IL 15 west of Fairfield at the “Y” intersection. Wayne County Sheriff’s Department says a 2018 Ford Flex driven by 60-year-old, Micky Haygood was traveling eastbound at the Y intersection stopping at a stop sign when the front of the vehicle was struck by a 2018 Ford driven by 42-year-old, Stephanie Nugent from Enfield.   Nugent was airlifted from the scene to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville with injuries and a female passenger in the Haygood vehicle was transported by Wayne County Ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  Fairfield Fire Department also responded to the scene of the accident which occurred at approximately 9:50 Tuesday morning.  Nugent was cited for disobeying a stop sign.
