USDA ILLINOIS CROP PROGRESS REPORT RELEASED WEDNESDAY

In the USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report released on Wednesday, it was noted that there were an average of 3.7 days suitable for fieldwork across the state last week. The average temperature in Illinois was 54.6 degrees, which is 10.2 degrees above normal. Precipitation levels averaged 3.04 inches, exceeding normal by 2.30 inches.

 

As of Monday, nearly all corn and soybean harvesting in the state has been completed, and winter wheat planting is at 96%, slightly above the 5-year average of 93%. The condition of the winter wheat is rated as 3% poor to very poor, 23% fair, 70% good, and 4% excellent. Farmers in the region report that only a small number of local corn acres remain to be harvested, while other agricultural activities are underway.
