THREE INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED BY WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT FOLLOWING THEFT INVESTIGATION

Three individuals are in custody following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office regarding  numerous burglaries that occurred in the Keenes area of Wayne County.   After an extensive investigation suspects in the crimes were developed. Deputies located two of the suspects, 25-year-old Mitchell B. Leas of Keenes and 24-year-old Gage A. Roth of Wayne City in a vehicle south of Keenes Wednesday morning at approximately 9:30.   In the vehicle, Deputies discovered stolen power tools, ammunition, methamphetamine, and digital scales. A search was then conducted at Leas’ residence in Keenes were two stolen firearms and stolen laptop were located.

 

The investigation then led the sheriff’s department to a residence in Golden Gate where a shed on the property of David Hudgens Jr. was searched and found to hold a large number of stolen items that were recovered. David R. Hudgens Jr., 26 of Golden Gate was located inside the residence and was also taken into custody.

Residential Burglary

Burglary of a Building

Possessiion of Stolen Firearm

Possession of Stolen Property

Possession of Methamphetamine

Theft

 

Gage A. Roth faces charges of:

Residential Burglary

Burglary of a building

Possession of Stolen Firearm

Possession of Stolen Property

Possession of Methamphetamine

Theft

 

 

David R. Hudgens Jr. faces charges of:

Residential Burglary

Burglary of a Building

Possession of Stolen Property

Theft

 

All suspects were arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail pending a detention hearing.
