A Herald man was pronounced dead following a single-vehicle accident late Monday night, marking the third crash in the area in just over four months.
The White County Sheriff’s Department reported that officers arrived at the scene to find a Ford truck that had collided with a tree. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Steven Martin, was pronounced dead at the scene by White County Coroner Chris Marsh, who confirmed that Martin died on impact.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine further details. Law enforcement has not yet identified the cause of the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
