A special meeting of the Edwards County School District Board of Education was held last (Wednesday) night with no official action taken by the board. It was discussed about adding on 10,000 square feet of to the existing auto building and renovating the existing structure, scaled down from the proposed 18,000 square feet. This will allow for some additional classroom and lab space and it be on 1 elevation and not encroaching on the grassy area west of the current building. This was one of the concerns at the last meeting and hopefully be a little bit more within budget. The board will approach the architect and have them revise the rough plans with projected costs.
Once the vocational building project is completed, the district is still looking at renovating the current wood shop to add additional locker rooms and moving the weight room to this area.
