Former Wayne City Police Chief Scheduled Court Appearance

The former Wayne City Police Chief was scheduled to make a court appearance Friday. Anson Fenton is facing federal charges after being accused of selling forfeited items confiscated by the department. Fenton was scheduled for an arraignment Friday morning, according to court records.

Reports indicated Fenton is accused of selling two motorcycles worth more than $5000 and trading one motorcycle for a 1991Ford Mustang for his own use. If convicted of the charges against him, Fenton could serve up to ten years in prison. Fenton was with the Wayne City Police Department for 12 years.
