WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT MAKE WEEKEND ARRESTS

Geff resident, 52-year-old Michael Sumpter Jr. was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies Saturday on a Wayne County warrant for Failure To Appear on previous charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Aggravated Assault.  Sumpter was also arrested on a new charge of Domestic Battery.  Sumpter was transported and lodged in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.

 

21-year-old Jagger Owen of Geff was arrested early Saturday morning by Deputies on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer, Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer and Driving While License Revoked or Suspended.  Just before 2:30, Deputies observed a vehicle commit numerous traffic violations and when they attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.  Deputies located the vehicle at Broadway Park in Fairfield.  Deputies observed the driver and a passenger walking away from the vehicle.  Deputies detained the two and observed a zip up bag on the ground.  The driver, Jagger Owen attempted to walk away from the deputies and had to be restrained.  Deputies were able to  recover a plastic bag that contained methamphetamine that was discarded by Owen.  The passenger was released from the scene.  Owen was transported by ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for precautionary measures and was then transported to the Wayne County Jail where he was lodged pending a court appearance.

 

Jeremy Beck, 48 of Cisne was arrested by Wayne County Deputies Sunday for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer, Driving While License Revoked or Suspended,  Possession of Methamphetamine and Obstructing Justice.   Beck was transported and lodged in the Wayne County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
