The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has announced that westbound traffic on I-64 will be switched to the new westbound pavement on Monday.
In the coming weeks, the temporary concrete barrier will be moved to the westbound side. This will result in all eastbound and westbound traffic being directed onto the new pavement, with the two directions separated by the barrier. During this transition, crossovers will be temporarily discontinued until the barrier relocation is complete.
Once the temporary concrete barrier is successfully relocated in approximately two to three weeks, all traffic will remain on westbound I-64, with crossovers back in service. Drivers are advised to use caution in the area during this period.
