HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NEWS:
RUDE TO COACH CHRISTOPHER
At 77 years old, Mike Rude still has the coaching bug. After announcing that he was stepping away as the co-coach at Sesser-Valier, where he has spent the last six seasons, Rude has been announced as the new Head Football Coach at Christopher, which is his Alma Mater.
The Bearcats have struggled the past few years and were winless in the past two seasons (0-18). Rude has 260 career coaching victories in high school football with stops in Wyanet, Anna-Jonesboro, Marion, Johnston City, Vienna/Goreville, and Sesser-Valier. The 260 wins ranks Coach Rude as 20th on the all-time list among IHSA football coaches.
