Two area residents appeared in Wayne County Circuit Court Thursday. 41-year-old Kelli J. Cotrill pled guilty to Refusing to Aid an Officer, a Class A petty offense. Per the plea deal, count 1 of Concealing a Fugitive was dismissed. Total fine for Cottrill amounted to $1,000. A Review Hearing is set for December 18th and if all terms and conditions are met, then Cotrill will not be required to appear at the Review Hearing.
Sims resident, 41-year-old Edward A. Riley pled guilty to Retail Theft, a Class A misdemeanor. Riley was sentenced to a term of one year Conditional Discharge plus court costs. As part of the plea deal, six other case numbers are dismissed. Riley was also ordered to pay restitution to three Fairfield businesses with a Review Hearing set for December 18th and if all terms and conditions are met, then Riley will not be required to appear at the Review Hearing.
