48-year-old Michael Glenn of Mt. Vernon has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to an armed violence charge in Jefferson County Court.

Glenn also received a ten-year prison term for a Class X armed habitual criminal charge.

Glenn’s arrest occurred when Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a violation of an order of protection at a residence in the 21,000 block of North Tolle Lane in rural Texico in late December. Evidence recovered at the scene led to additional charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, and armed violence.

Glenn will be required to serve 50% of the sentence for the armed violence conviction and 100% of the time for the armed habitual charge.
