ILLINOIS SOYBEAN FARMERS HAD SUCCESSFUL YEAR IN 2024 ACCORDING TO STATISTICS

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service reports that Illinois had an exceptional year for soybean production in 2024. Farmers in the state produced 688 million bushels, exceeding the previous record of 667 million bushels set in 2018. The average yield increased to 64 bushels per acre, up from 63 bushels per acre in 2023. Additionally, the harvested area rose to 10.75 million acres from 10.3 million acres the previous year. This solidifies Illinois’ position as the leading soybean producing state in the nation.
