Fairfield Police and Wayne County Sheriff’s Department were busy over the weekend with the arrest of four area individuals.
Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:30, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a suspected stolen vehicle from Mt. Vernon. Deputies located the vehicle at a residence in Wayne City and after conducting interviews arrested 30-year-old Ronald L. Mount of Wayne City for possession of stolen vehicle. Mount was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail and is being held pending a detainment hearing.
Abby Koontz, a 37-year-old Fairfield resident was arrested Saturday night by Fairfield Police on a Wayne County Warrant for Domestic Battery. Koontz was transported and lodged in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
Fairfield Police responded to Wayne-White Electric Cooperative on West Main St. Sunday night around 9:45 to investigate a report of an alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject, later identified as 43-year-old Benjamin M. Smith of Mt. Vernon fleeing north on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Smith was taken into custody. Smith’s vehicle was discovered a short distance away. A tow inventory was conducted, with suspected methamphetamine and firearm ammunition being discovered. Smith was charged with burglary, possession of methamphetamine and possession of ammunition without a FOID card. Smith was transported and lodged in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
Sunday afternoon just before 2 O’clock, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in Wayne City to investigate an illicit drug complaint. Upon arrival Deputies were able to determine 33-year-old Tinisha J. Olsen of Wayne City was in possession of approximately 3.9 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Olsen was placed under arrest and transported to the Wayne County Jail and is awaiting a detainment hearing.
