BOYS JR HIGH BASKETBALL STATE TOURNAMENT:

The Wayne City Braves, 23-4 will face Joseph Arthur School this (Friday) afternoon at 3:30pm at the SIJHSAA Class M State Tournament at Rend Lake College.

The Cisne Blazing Bullets face Thompsonville Saturday afternoon at 5:00pm at the SIJHSAA Class S State Tournament at Rend Lake College.

The Rome Hornets face Opdyke Belle-Rive Saturday morning at 9:30am at the SIJHSAA Class S State Tournament at Rend Lake College.

The number-25 Illinois Fighting Illini look to get back in the win column when they visit the Minnesota Gophers tomorrow evening. The Illini lost to Rutgers 82-73 on the road on Wednesday. Illinois is in seventh place in the Big Ten with a 7-and-6 conference record and a 15-and-8 mark overall. Tomorrow’s game starts at 5:00pm and can be heard on WFIW-AM 1390 and FM 103.3 on the Illini Sports Network powered by Learfield. Pregame gets underway at 4pm.

BASEBALL NEWS:
The St. Louis Cardinals are adding some depth to the outfield. The team traded for Twins outfielder Michael Helman yesterday. The Cards sent Minnesota cash considerations to complete the deal. Helman appeared in just nine games last season, tallying three hits in ten at-bats.
