The North Wayne Unit School District Board of Education met for their regular monthly meeting Wednesday night. The board approved the following items on the consent agenda:
Approve the minutes of the January 15, 2025 regular meeting
Approve personal leave days and dock days requests
Approve the Cisne Reunion Board use of equipment (coat racks and podium), and use of school grounds for car show and parade lineup
Approve FMLA leave for employee(s)
Accept the resignation from Tyson Lowe as CMS Girls’ Basketball Head Coach
Accept the resignation from Kandra Johnson as CMS Assistant Track and Field Coach
Accept the resignation from Jennifer Lewis as CMS Girls’ Asst. Basketball Coach
Accept an anonymous donation to the CHS FFA in the amount of $2500
Accept the resignation from Beth Shamhart as CHS enrichment and Senior Class sponsor.
The board approved the payment of the bills.
The board set CMS graduation for May 16 at 6 p.m. and CHS graduation May 17 at 2 p.m.
The board accepted the notice to retire letter submitted by John Hutton for the 2027-28 school year.
The board approved the 2024-25 amended school calendar.
The board approved the FY26 school calendar.
The board accepted a bid from Concrete Evolutions to finish the epoxy flooring at CMS.
The board adopted a resolution in support of Vision 2030.
The board approved to transfer $95,628 from the working cash fund to be dispersed between the education, building, and transportation funds for the purpose of paying the Egyptian Trust Assessment Fee.
Following executive session, the board hired the following personnel:
Non-tenured teachers Jenna Allison, Jalisa Simpson, Bethany Tannahill, Kailee Weber, Melanie Jordan, and Darla Gindlesberger were re-hired for the 2025- 26 school year and also Leslie Cordill, Rylee Kelly, Summer Braden, and Mikayla Wilkerson were re-hired and placed on tenure status.
Principals Beth Bowen, Kevin Bowen, and Leslie Riley were re-hired for the 2025-26 school year.
Jennifer Lewis was hired as CMS Head Girls Basketball Coach.
Chynna Keyser was hired as CMS Asst. Girls Basketball Coach.
Jennifer Lewis was hired as CMS Asst. Track & Field Coach.
Collin Klingler was hired as CHS Driver’s Ed., Health, and P.E. Teacher for the 2025-26 school year.
