Illinois State Police Troop 9 along with Fairfield Rural Fire Department and Wayne County Ambulance personnel responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries at approximately 5:46 Thursday evening on I-64 EB near milepost 111. State Police say a Dodge Ram truck pulling a flatbed trailer was driving in the right lane and a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling behind the truck pulling the flatbed trailer. For an unknown reason, the Hyundai rear-ended the trailer, and then the Hyundai ran off the roadway coming to a stop in the median. The male driver of the Hyundai reported injuries on scene and was transported by Wayne County Ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Dodge Ram did not report any injuries.
