Grilling Season Tips from Wayne County Health Department

With grilling season in full swing, the Wayne County Health Department recently shared tips on how to have a safe and health summer of grilled foods off the grill. The say, to scrub grates and surfaces to prevent bacteria buildup, wash hands before and after handling raw meat, use separate boards for raw and cooked food, cook meat to proper internal temperatures, keep perishables in a cooler with ice, assign separate handlers for raw and cooked food and refrigerate leftovers promptly. Officials say following those tips will keep summer grilling season safe for everyone.
