ILLINOIS STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING IN-CUSTODY DEATH AT RICHLAND COUNTY JAIL

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office has reported an in-custody death at the Richland County Jail in Olney involving 62-year-old Donald Pollock. He was found unresponsive in his cell around 5:55am Wednesday after being booked the previous evening around 8pm on firearms and drug-related charges. Despite immediate life-saving measures and the involvement of emergency medical services, he was pronounced deceased. The Illinois State Police are conducting an investigation, and the Richland County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
