JoAnn Gaither, 89, of Grayville, Illinois went to be with her Lord, October 29, 2024. Daughter of the late Forest and Mayme Johnson. JoAnn was born on September 14, 1935, in Ellery, IL.
JoAnn leaves behind daughters Jane Owen and JoEllen Seil of Grayville, son Jay (Lou Ann Pavelin) Gaither of New York, and three grandchildren, William Owen, Jessica Seil and Angelaca Gaither, a half-sister Doris Westermann, a special niece Susie Gibbs, and many other special loved-ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Jack Gaither, brothers Daryl and Donnie Woods, and special aunt Elsie Williams.
After raising her four children, she was able to put to good use her great sense of style and fashion by working at the Evangeline Dress Shop. She also worked at Sparton Manufacturing before retiring in 1997 to selflessly care for her mother.
JoAnn was a woman of strong faith who loved music, singing, dancing, animals, and especially her loving family.
A service celebrating JoAnn’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service 221 North First Street, Grayville, IL, with Jack Pickett officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials in her honor may be sent to Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis, 4321 Chouteau Ave. St. Louis, MO 63110.
