The “Run for the Wall,” a nationwide motorcycle ride honoring veterans and raising awareness of POW/MIA service members, will make a stop in Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, May 20th. The event is expected to draw many riders and supporters to the area.
The bikers will arrive in Mt. Vernon around 10:45 a.m., traveling via I-57 and exiting at Exit 95. They will head east on Broadway, stopping briefly at Huck’s at 24th and Broadway for refueling, then regroup at Rural King before continuing east on Broadway towards the airport for a luncheon.
Everyone from the area is encouraged to show their support along the route, as increased motorcycle traffic is anticipated that morning. The event offers an opportunity for residents to honor veterans and support the important mission of the ride.
