GIRLS TRACK & FIELD IHSA SECTIONAL
The Girls Class 1A Track Sectional at Webber High School in Bluford was won by the Nashville Hornettes with 180 team points. Fairfield was second with 127.3 points, Vienna was third with 78 points. There were a total of eleven teams that competed at the Webber Sectional.

FAIRFIELD RELAY BREAKS RECORD
Congratulations to the 4×100 relay team of Emily Vaughan, Myra Copeland, Jensyn Robbins and Wren Braddock on breaking the SCHOOL RECORD at Fairfield High School, which stood for 39 years.
This quartet ran a time of 51.63. The previous record was held by Peggy Bevis, Shelly Vaughn, Monique Kirkwood and Lori Sullivan, who ran a time of 51.70 in 1986.

Congratulations to Emily Vaughan on breaking the school record in the 300 hurdles. She ran a time of 47.06. The previous record was held by Destiny Hooker in 2023 with a time of 48.25.

Fairfield Mules Boys Track Team won the Black Diamond Conference Championship Thursday at Carmi-White Co.

Congratulations to the 4×100 relay team of Michael Barner, Miller Simpson, Jude Carter and Justin Johnson on breaking the school record. They ran a time of 44.28. The previous record was held by Colton Land, Brant McGill, Wyatt Borah, Bryce Maguire and Ryan Estheimer. They ran a time of 44.50 in 2016.

The St. Louis Cardinals begin a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium tonight. The Cardinals took two of three over the Philadelphia Phillies earlier this week. St. Louis is in second place in the NL Central at 24-and-20. Andre Pallante starts for the Cards tonight. First pitch is at 6:40PM.

The Crosstown Series gets underway when the Chicago Cubs host the White Sox at Wrigley Field today. The Cubs were off yesterday but are coming off a series win over the Miami Marlins earlier this week. The Northsiders are in first place in the NL Central at 25-and-19. Cade Horton takes the mound for the Cubs, while the White Sox turn to Shane Smith. First pitch is at 1:20PM.
