NEW HOPE GRADE SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS BUDGET, HIRING AND FACILITY UPDATES AT MAY MEETING

The New Hope Grade School District Board of Education will meet Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 pm to address a full agenda.

 

The meeting will begin with routine business, including approval of the April 15th meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report, payment of bills, and the destruction of audio recordings from closed sessions more than 18 months old.

Superintendent updates will cover several important end-of-year and planning topics:

Registration for the upcoming School Board Conference, which opens June 2nd.

Recognition of student athletes who have qualified for track and golf state competitions.

Details about the upcoming sports banquet.

A reminder that the last day of school is May 28th with early dismissal at 12:30 p.m.

Plans to purchase new uniforms and a scorer’s bench.

Proposals to replace carpet and reseal the gym floor, signaling ongoing facility maintenance.

In the “New Business” section, the board is expected to take action on several significant items:

A first reading of Board Policy Update Issue 118.

A motion to display the amended FY25 budget.

A motion to authorize preparation of the FY26 budget.

A motion to adopt a District Literacy Plan.

Consideration of a motion to hire Kamber Jolly as a permanent substitute or paraprofessional for FY26.

A motion to advertise for an additional paraprofessional for the next fiscal year and an executive session is scheduled to discuss personnel.
