Rose Marie Wilson, 90, of Grayville, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born on August 28, 1934, in Oxford, Kansas, the daughter of Noble and Melissa Jane (Faris) Witt. Rose married the love of her life, George Wilson on August 27, 1950.
She worked as a bookkeeper for a printing company in Washington D.C. while her husband was stationed there during his military service. Rose Marie eventually went back to school to become an elementary school teacher. She attended Wabash Valley College and then went on to get her bachelor’s degree at Oakland City University. Rose Marie taught at the Grayville Wells Elementary School for 26 years. Throughout her life, her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and playing and serving in church were always very important to her. Rose Marie could play the piano beautifully. She enjoyed being with friends. Most of all, Rose Marie loved being with her family.
Rose Marie is survived by her children, Kevin (Debi) Wilson, and Sharon (Chuck) May; grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson, Sarah (Wes) Blanton, Stephanie (Josh) Moser, Jennifer (Taylor) Dugan and Kevin (Brooke Boelens) Wilson, II; great-grandchildren, Tenley Short, Holly Blanton, Ava Grace Moser and Franklin Moser. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson; her parents; a grandchild, Rachel Marie (May) Short; and two sisters, Donna Lee Savory and Dolores Ann Brown.
Funeral services for Rose Marie Wilson be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Grayville, 2301 Broster Rd. Grayville, IL. 62844. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville. Family and friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose Marie’s honor to the music fund at First Baptist Church in Grayville and will be accepted at the church. Roberts and Cook Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
