NORTH WAYNE CUSD #200 TO HOLD REGULAR BOARD MEETING ON WEDNESDAY

The North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 21st at 6:00 p.m. at Cisne Middle School. The agenda includes a full schedule of items ranging from personnel decisions to facility improvements and program approvals.

Items up for approval under the consent agenda include:

Minutes from the April 16, 2025 meeting

Personal leave and dock day requests

Resignation of Summer Braden as CMS Assistant Softball Coach

Retroactive approval for an FFA overnight trip on May 1

Revolving fund increases for Cisne High School and Middle School

Use of CHS Baseball Diamond by the Cisne Pony League team

A $1,000 donation to CHS FFA from the Mt. Erie Ruritan Club

The board will review the payment of bills, hear the Treasurer’s Report, and conduct an income review.

 

In old business, the board will:

Discuss non-certified aide pay

Consider purchasing a 10-passenger van or activity bus

Review board committee structure

New business items include:

Approval of the FFA State Convention Trip (June 10–12)

Discussion of the annual FFA report

Consideration of an amended FY25 budget

Approving online registration via TeacherEase

Development of a district website

Updates to the student handbook for 2025–26

Evaluation of costs for a large gym fan installation at Mt. Erie Elementary

 

The board will move into closed session to discuss various staffing matters, including:

Coaching positions for softball and volleyball

A business teacher opening at CHS

Assistant Athletic Director position

Potential promotion of a long-term substitute to a certified role

Individual aide positions at Mt. Erie and Johnsonville Elementary Schools

A parent request to address the board

 

Following executive session, the board will return to open session to vote on:

Coaching hires

Teacher and aide appointments

Promotion of staff

Other personnel recommendations

The meeting is open to the public, and community members are welcome to attend.
