In response to the devastating tornado that struck southern Williamson County on Friday night, the Southern Illinois Salvation Army is now accepting donations to assist those impacted by the storm.
Donations can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, located at 906 Tower Square Plaza in Marion. Donors are asked to clearly mark items for disaster relief.
The following items are being accepted:
Bedding
Towels
Toiletries and hygiene products
Pet food
Diapers, formula, and baby wipes
Clothing (all sizes)
Household goods (such as coffee pots, pots and pans, dishes, etc.)
Those with questions are encouraged to contact Darla Harms or any staff member at the store office by calling 618-993-5854.
Individuals affected by the tornado are eligible to receive assistance through the Salvation Army. A case number from the American Red Cross is required to access aid.
