Fairfield Mules Baseball players, Tallen Hixenbaugh, Ian Puckett and Breychan Kovacich have been selected to the Black Diamond Conference-East All-Conference baseball team. The rest of the team includes the following area players:

The St. Louis Cardinals aim to avoid a third straight loss when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Busch Stadium tonight. The Cardinals just dropped two of three to the Tigers earlier this week. St. Louis is in second place in the NL Central at 27-and-23. Miles Mikolas starts for the Cards tonight. First pitch is at 7:15PM.

The Chicago Cubs go for their third win in a row when they take on the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park tonight. The Northsiders took two of three from the Marlins earlier this week. Chicago is in first place in the NL Central at 30-and-20. The Cubs send Matthew Boyd to the mound tonight. First pitch is at 5:40PM.

Indianapolis 500 Preview
The 109th Indianapolis 500 will be run on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rookie racer Robert Shwartzman will run from the pole position, becoming the first rookie to earn that spot since Teo Fabi in 1983. He will be joined on the top line by two-time Indy 500 winner Takuma Sato and last year’s runner-up Pato O’Ward. Last year’s winner, Josef Newgarden, will start in the 11th row alongside Will Power after the pair were found to have illegally altered attenuators.

NASCAR Cup Series Returns To Regular Season Action At Charlotte
The NASCAR Cup Series is back to regular season action this Sunday. The field battles in the Coca-Cola 600 from Charlotte Motor Speedway. Christopher Bell earned a one-million-dollar check following last weekend’s win in the All-Star Race. The driver of the Number-20 car sits third in the standings while Kyle Larson and William Byron make up the top-three. Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney are fourth-and-fifth.
