With the school year winding down, Fairfield Grade School Superintendent Kristina Gardner reported that summer maintenance projects are set to begin across the district.
At the most recent board meeting, Gardner informed the board that the district has received 86% of its projected revenue and has expended 82% of its annual budget to date. The current food service fund balance stands at $274,474, and bids for food service contracts are due May 23.
Planned summer maintenance includes hallway updates at North Side School and the installation of new faucets in select Center Street School bathrooms. General painting and cleaning will also be part of the summer work schedule.
Following a closed session, the board accepted the resignation of Kim Williams from her position as paraprofessional. In the same meeting, Williams was hired as a bus driver for the 2026 fiscal year.
The board also approved a new contract agreement for non-certified staff, ensuring continued support services across the district heading into the next school year.
