NEW HOPE SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR MEETING JUNE 17TH

The New Hope School District will host a public hearing and regular board meeting on Tuesday, June 17th, at 7:00 p.m., with key financial and administrative decisions on the agenda.

The evening will begin with a public hearing focused on the Fiscal Year 2025 amended budget, offering an opportunity for community members to review and provide input before the board takes formal action.

Immediately following the hearing, the board will transition into its regular monthly meeting, starting with a review and approval of the consent agenda, which includes minutes from the May 20th meeting, the treasurer’s report, and current bills.

Visitors will have an opportunity to address the board before members move into reports and updates from the president, committees, and Superintendent. Superintendent updates will include preliminary IAR and ISA testing scores, 5Essential Survey results, JAC registration, an AL Summit teacher institute update, and ongoing building and maintenance projects.

Among the major action items under new business:

Motion to abolish the Working Cash Fund

Adoption of PRESS Policy Update Issue 118

Approval of the FY25 amended budget

Appointment of Britany Pope as Principal Authority for the Illinois Funds Account

Approval of 2025-2026 handbook changes

Approval of classified staff wages for 2025-2026

Hiring of a paraprofessional for the upcoming school year

The board is also scheduled to enter an executive session to discuss personnel matters, including appointments, employment, and compensation.
